Södertälje is nestled in between Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea. The first inhabitants came for more than a thousand years ago and today the city is well-known for its major industrial companies such as Astra Zenica and Scandia.
In the central parts of Södertälje you find the popular tourist attractions Tom Tit Experiment, Sydpoolen and Torekällberget, beautiful walking paths as well as three bigger department stores for those who are out looking for shopping. The city has a rich culture-range with art gallery, library, theatres and musical stages. On the outskirts of the town you can find both Taxinge and Tullgarn castles, surrounded by a beautiful nature. The attractions are many in and outside of Södertälje and no matter if you are young or old there is something to do for everyone! During the summer season, May to September, one of the world's oldest steam boat s/s Ejdern will take you out on different trips around Södertälje and Stockholm. We have one of the best fishing waters in Sweden and some parts of the beautiful hiking path "Sörmlandsleden" extends through our municipality.
Wellcome to discover Södertälje!
